Streusel-Topped Blueberry Wafel Casserole
Our overnight casserole is perfect for any holiday breakfast or brunch! It's filled with the fresh taste of blueberries and topped with a one of a kind streusel for an indulgent breakfast treat.
Ingredients
15 Julian's Recipe Vanilla Belgian Pastry Wafels, thawed and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 cups frozen blueberries
8 large eggs
1-1/2 cups 2% milk
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Topping
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened
Instructions
In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and brown sugar until blended.
Place half of the wafel pieces in a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Drop cream cheese mixture by the spoonful over wafels.
Then, layer the baking dish with blueberries and remaining wafels.
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla until blended; pour over wafels. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove casserole from refrigerator while oven heats.
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over top.
Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and serve warm.
Blueberry & Brie Melt
Our Blueberry and Brie Melt is the sweet breakfast treat you’ve been looking for! A blueberry compote with brie is tucked within two Julian’s wafels for a decadent meal.
Ingredients
8 Julian’s Recipe Wafels
1 ½ cups blueberries
2 tsp. lemon zest
2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
4 oz. of Brie, thinly sliced
Directions
Combine the blueberries, lemon zest and sugar in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture has thickened.
Place the butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Then, place your wafels into the pan.
Add 4-5 slices of brie cheese on top followed by a generous scoop of the blueberry compote.
Top with the second wafel and then flip! Allow 2-3 minutes per side or until golden.
Serve while hot and enjoy!
Maple Chicken and Wafel Sandwich
This savory, filling dish is made easy with Julian’s wafels. Your friends will be asking you to bring it to every Sunday brunch!
Ingredients
4 Julian’s Recipe Maple Belgian Wafels
Maple Syrup
Fried Chicken
1 lb chicken cutlets, sliced in half
1 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp. hot sauce
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions
In a large bowl, marinate the chicken with the buttermilk and hot sauce.
In a second bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture.
Add one cup of vegetable oil into a skillet over medium heat.
Fry the chicken in the pan until golden brown on both sides.
Sandwich Assembly
Place one warmed up Julian’s Recipe Maple Belgian Wafel on a plate.
Add the fried chicken and then add another Julian’s Recipe Maple Belgian Wafel on top.
Drizzle the maple bourbon syrup and enjoy!
Savory Pretzel Bread Bruschetta
This savory appetizer is a party of contrasts. A delightful combo of our hot and crusty baguette, a cool garden mix topper, finished with a kick of Dijon. This finger food will be a favorite of your next family gathering.
Ingredients
1 Julian’s Recipe Butter & Sea Salt Pretzel Baguette
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/4 Tbsp. olive oil
Ground salt
Ground pepper
1 Tbsp. chopped basil
Sliced cheddar cheese
Dijon mustard
Directions
Bake the Julian’s Recipe Pretzel Baguette according to the package, and slice.
Mix tomatoes, onions, and basil with olive oil and add salt & pepper to taste.
Top pretzel bread with cheddar cheese while bread is still warm, let melt.
Spoon tomato mixture onto crisps and top with a small drop of Dijon mustard.
Serve immediately.
Julian’s Strawberry Goat Cheese Crostini
This fancy hors d'oeuvre will melt in your mouth and become your new favorite brunch staple. Pair with a mimosa and enjoy!
Ingredients
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon minced thyme
1 teaspoon minced rosemary
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ pound goat cheese
2 cups chopped strawberries
2 cups of arugula or spinach
1 Julian’s recipe Truffle Butter Baguette
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Place bread on ungreased baking sheets; brush with oil mixture.
Broil 3-4 in. from the heat until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes. Spread with goat cheese. Broil until the cheese begins to melt, 2-3 minutes longer.
In a small bowl, combine strawberries and arugula. Layer over cheese. Enjoy!
